Use blue painter's tape, for sure. Refer to the paint can's label to verify the cure time. If you are doing multiple colors over a base coat I would exercise patience before taping any new paint. It never hurts to extend cure time.

i exploit the remedy attempt even after checking the teachings (climate and humidity can influence finished dry circumstances). p.c.. an obscure section on the dresser and attempt to sink your finger nail into it. If it leaves a melancholy, the paint isn't completely cured, if it would not you're prepared for re-assembly.

2 or 3 hours for latex...longer for oil base
