Gotta read "Flatland" by Edwin A. Abbott. Subtitled "A Romance in Many Dimensions", it's about how beings would live if they could move only length- and width-wise, i.e in 2 dimensions. It's a short book and really dryly humorous. It was first published in 1884 and is a classic now.

You also might want to look into "A Beautiful Mind", the book about John Nash that was made into a movie directed by Ron Howard and starring Russell Crowe. Not a fiction book, but covers math - Nash is schizophrenic, but he also is a genius in high mathematics.
