Pitt was flat outplayed on their own home court, they were lethargic and Louisville wanted it more. The Pitt players or coaches sure aren't blaming it on bad calls.

Historically, teams in all sports (and more often, fans of the teams) have taken to blaming the referees for their loses. This is nothing new. And it's much worse with the fans than with the teams themselves.... if a ref really, really blows a call, then the team might say something about it, but fans are a lot worse about blaming refs than the teams themselves are, because more often than not, deep down, the players all know it when they don't give their best effort.

It does keep the fans from having to admit that their team was outplayed, or their coach was outcoached.

It's happening more and more during the ESPN era... now, to hear some fans tell it, their team NEVER gets outplayed and it's ALWAYS the refs fault that they lost... just check out Yahoo Answers during football season... every week there are questions about fixed games and refs getting paid off. There was even a question where a guy asked what was the name of the referee who made a particular call against his team...like THAT'S going to accomplish anything... I mean, what was the guy gonna do, go TP the referee's house or something?

Fans should just shut up and admit when their teams get outplayed. Sometimes your team gets outplayed and still wins, and sometimes they outplay the opponent and lose... happens all the time, get used to it. They never remember the times their team BENEFITED from a questionable call, they only remember the times they get "screwed". It's getting ridiculous.

man, i was at that game. let me agree with you, it was not the refs' faults at all. pitt had 15 turnovers in the first half and never got back into the game. they were out played, out hustled, ad mainly out coached. if people think jamie dixon is a great coach, they should have looked down the sideline and seen rick pitino. if pitt wants a good seed in the NCAA tourney, they better rebound.
