Why are you waiting a year...go to a community college and get some of your courses out of the way, that don't mean you have a major yet...in all majors you have to take certain courses and why waste a year, get at it....then transfer the credits...and you need to do something that you are really passionate about, something you love to do, whether it be fashion, health, law, anything that you are really into, that's what you do...it takes people years of doing jobs they end of hating and aging from to figure out, it is what you love that you do, career wise, personal wise, ect...just go for something you like and have a passion for...I'm sure there is something you are really into, think about that, but, you don't have to decide right when you start college, you can decide after going to college, taking your basic courses, and then spreading your wings a little and see what you are interested in, and you don't have to have just one major, you can also have a minor in college...the first years you just need to make good grades, stay focused, and learn through experimenting what you like best and your passion and it will all fall into place. It happens to different people at different times, some go into college knowing from childhood exactly what they wanted to be like my daughters, but, me, I wasn't so sure, and took different classes, and graduated, and graduated, and graduated, until I finally found that perfect job for me that made me love my work, have a passion for it, and now I am at peace, and happy and enjoy life and years are taken off me, I feel younger now than when I started college, so just feel it out, it will come...who knows, you might not even want a career, but, it is always a good back-up plan to have, you can't count on a husband/wife for your total support, because in these days and times nothing is forever...you always hope it will be, but, just in case be able to finacially take care of yourself, by yourself, and kids if you want them in the future...it will come to you...be patient..

I was supposed to decide? I've done a lot of different jobs in my life, and I've still not fully settled on what I'd like to do for the rest of it. And I'm a great deal older than you.
Currently, I teach at rendezvous and I am a milliner and costumer. Looking back, I should maybe have chosen the art/costuming route much earlier. BUt if I had, I wouldn't have done it the same, nor be the same person I am now. And I like me.

You can't really just decide out of the blue what to do with your life. It won't come to you in some psychic vision solving all your problems. You have to try different things until you find something you like, and then stick with it. Don't be afraid to drop something because it's not for you, there's plenty of other things to try. Honestly, whenever I have a tough decision to make, and both possibilities seem like good choices, I just flip a coin and leave it up to fate. I wouldn't recommend it though, sometimes fate's a S.O.B. Personally, I still haven't found my one true calling, and I'm not sure that I ever will, but I won't stop looking.

Very late.
This is because I have listened to everybody else around me and refused to listen to me.
I went there and grabbed what others wanted me to have, but never grabbed whatever I wanted to have.
You want something, you go get it. If someone else wants otherwise, they can go to hell. Nothing will ever stop me from getting what I want anymore.
It was a lesson; I was a student; now I am a teacher.

Great listener gave you some great advise. When you get to university, consider an intern program. You can get some idea of what you like and don't like while earning credits.
