The mavs will win the championship because of the improvement of one player: Josh Howard. Last year they were depending on Dirk for a majority of their points. This year, Josh has stepped it up and scoring nearly 20 points a game. He has also learned to play great defense. I think the mavs win it, but if they don't the suns will be the ones to beat them.

the suns can win under a few conditions:
1) steve nash remains healthy.
right now we're seeing steve nash's age finally showing in his inability to heal fast with a minor injury (inflammation to the shoulder). this might be the kryptonite given to a few teams seeing as how they might bump around nash a bit more so he might sit out with less minutes. however, nash's understudy, leandro barbosa, isn't as shabby as he was two, three years ago when he was a newbie who couldn't shoot or pass.
2) a team doesn't find a way to slow phoenix down
phoenix and fastbreaking: thats common sense pairing like hand to glove or bush to iraq. if an amazing halfcourt team, such a detroit with newly acquired c-webb, can find a way to suck phoenix into their halfcourt game, then phoenix will lose momentum. approx. (and i'm going out on a limb) 40 to 45% of phoenix's poitns come off of transition or fastbreak points. dallas and san antonio also know how to slow down phoenix big time due to their amazing depth and halfcourt zone/game. those three teams are phoenix's biggest concerns. they can burn miami, chicago, and utah any day because they're all still young (except the big men shaq, big ben and zo)
3) [if all else fails] suns learn to live without steve nash
without steve nash, it seems the phoenix suns can run but can't finish. shawn marion and amare stoudemire present heavy inside games (i dunno wtf that one guy is saying who claimed they have no inside presence) with reasonable jump shot ranges. barbosa, j. jones, marcus banks, and raja bell can spread the perimeter with their 3 pointers. boris diaw and kurt thomas can do the rebounding, miscellaneous assists, and get to the basket when needed.
phoenix already has mastered pressure situations, always hitting a big three or getting the offensive rebound to pound it back in due their freakishly athletic young'ins. since they have playoff experience, they have the ability to finish plays, they know how to defend (i love it when they use an running offense as their defense) and they can get it done in crunch time.

Yes. Nobody can run with them. They are deep. The only weekness is a lack of a physical inside game.

If they stay healthy they will win it all!
Dallas will be there, but I think Phoenix can run them with Steve Nash and their outside shooting!
