that once you get pretty you have a hard time keeping friends? I mean i used to be pudgy all through my teens...had no problem keeping friends...but now after years of hard work to improve my physical appearance and help my self esteem i can't keep a friend...they all tell me i'm dumb and stereotypical like "Paris Hilton"............i'm not!! I'm the same girl i always was, sure i enjoy shopping every now and then but that's because i think i actually look decent in my clothes now...i've just taken some initiative to help my life a bit. I'm still easily run over and am always out there to help anyone...i have never ended a friendship in my life and always comment my friends on their good qualities? What is up with girls these days? No rude comments please.

They are jealous. I know that sounds terribly judge mental of me but it is probably true. I am sort of pudgy, and I greatly envy pretty girls, and I sort of don't value their opinions that of a non pretty persons. As much as I resist to feel this way, I just can't help but judge.

I understand. I never could keep girlfriends in high school. I was insanely thin for the longest time, and the girls always complained about how skinny I was. I was the stereotypical anorexic though I ate like no other (and I didn't puke it up either). Girls these days are vicious. They probably are just jealous that you did something about your weight and now you look good. It's really frustrating being thrown into a stereotype when really, you wouldn't fit in one at all.

People have a need to be with people that they feel superior to or think they can "fix." When you made strides, they felt threatened and so they have to put you down to make themselves feel better. It's a form of jealousy. It's like people that bring junk food around to people who are trying to diet. Some people just can't stand for others to succeed. Just be true to yourself and proud of yourself and don't let them get your goat. Might be good to distance yourself from them at least temporarily and find some positive and uplifting friends who share similar interests as you.

Improving your appearance took a lot of work and self-control. That's a huge achievement. Be proud and don't look back:)

well i think they are a little jealous of you. Which is totally normal for teen girls. I was the same thing and my friends got jealous. But then i realized that if they really are my friends then they wouldn't treat me like that and would still love me for who i am and not what i look like. If you are the same as you say you are, you should talk to them and let them know how you feel.

Good luck =]

Sadly,it happens...And I hate for this to be my answer but thats just how girls are...I moved to New York for seven months then moved back to Alaska and I attended the same school as I did before and let me tell you...there were alot of haters...sure my boobs had grown,my hair got longer and I had gotten taller but I was still the same sweet person inside and there were some girls that really hated me for not reason at all and it really really bothered me for the first couple of weeks but I learned that if you just act the same they start liking you again...I hope it gets better for you Good Luck and God Bless

Rude comments why would someone be rude to you honey I know exactly what you mean. Not to say I wasn't always pretty but when you're hot you're hot, my friends treated me like garbage when I grew into my looks. People, especially women sometimes, don't like it when you surpass them. Not in looks, not in smarts, not in anything. So no one likes to see you succeed. You're friends are not your friends. You're true friends will be happy for you no matter what. So you need better friends. Good luck babe!

It seems like these "friends" are realy friends because if they were they would be happy and supportive to you. I understand the weight thing and that is hoe jealous people will act...cheer up if you contiue to be true to yourself you will find true friends.

yuo don't have to prove anything to anyone....you just have to be yourself, if you don't know who you are you will find it later. once you find good freinds you know that they will stick to you forever.
