If it's a coffee fix, try mixing your morning coffee with decaf. Use a little decaf to start and slowly add a little more every day until you're using just decaf. For soda, try buying the mini-cans instead of the big cans and limit yourself to a certain number of minis a day. Slowly reduce the number of cans you can have until you're on none. Once you're off caffeinated soda, you can start drinking non-caffeinated sodas like some rootbeers, some diet sodas, some orange sodas, and lemon-lime soda.

I think that you will believe this, but caffeine is the most highly addicted substance known to man. I'm serious! If you want to quit. Take a little at a time. Do you know how to use the saying "mind over matter?" It works. subconciously convice yourself that you have had it already. Think of something different and it will go away. Eat a little choclate if you get into some real troubles without it. Choclate has seritonin which is a hormone that makes you happy for your FYI! So the caffeine and the saritonin found in choclate will soon become your best friend if you need a little help quititing. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

I just broke myself of caffeine. I love coffee and I love coke a cola! But I was getting way to jittery during the day and had rapid heart beat as well.
I bought caffeine free coke right off the bat but I bought 1/2 caff. by Folgers to cut down on my caffeine intake. I did that for a few weeks til that big bucket of coffee was gone and then switched to decaf coffee and I did fine.
Good Luck!

To break yourself of an addiction it takes a serious amount of faith, self love, self discipline, and a strong support group. Whatever your addiction is, how big or small, you need to consistently not give in to it for 90 days to really see a difference in your mind. You have to want to change to see results. Go out with friends, find a great and fun hobby, work out, whatever it takes not to think about it. If it's really serious, please seek treatment through counseling or rehab.

Gradually cut down on the number of caffeinated drinks you have. Try drinking caffeine-free soda, or better yet, drink water! I'm trying to cut down too, and at work I have my diet Mt. Dew, but I also have a water bottle full of ice water, and I drink from them both. So that way it's not just all soda all day.

I would say as with most chemicals, you will need to put your mind to it and just do it. I have recently dropped caffeine from I diet. So instead of coffee I have hot green tea and honey. Much healthier for you and after a few days it is not so bad. I do sometimes have a cup of coffee I now just keep it to a limit. Good luck and God bless****

Slowly stop drinking them. I tried to quit Mountain Dew cold turkey, but only ended up with major headaches. I took it a little at a time and the last time I had Mountain Dew was 2 years ago. I hardly drink anything with caffeine in it now.

Well, honey, I don't drink coffee. But when there is an addiction, you could try to gradually reduce your dosage of caffeine. At first, it may be uncomfortable. But after a while, when you get use to the new ways, you will be energetic just like before! bye, hon.

Breaking any ADDICTION. Is just that breaking it. Deal with the withdrawals ( caffeine ) headaches tired ect. Just like withdrawals form any thing you "think" you can"t live without. My advice to you is to learn to love your self . , Dont be so weak. and If YOU think coffee, is addicction , take a walk down town SKID ROW p.s. take some coffee with you It just might be the only thing hot they had for a week.

yep...you have to struggle through the next 2 weeks and not drink any sort of caffeine...u need to drink lots of water to cleanse your system. Once you get rid of the body cravings the habbitual is what you need to work on next. When it comes to the habbitual just don't think about...try to make yourself so busy in the morning u don't think about wanting a cup of coffee/soda
