Either we are talking about a real star or a very nice or attractive person whom the coaches love for reasons which really have nothing to do with the player's ability.
That could be bad or not. Some people are just fun to be around.

That player has got to have some sort of skill that the coaches both appreciate. But there is also a whole mental aspect to it. No coach like to be around an arrogant airhead!
So I'd say a combination of skills and personality!

It says that the two coaches like his play. That would be the case for many players and many coaches. Lots of coaches admire players outside their teams and their value or wouldn't chase them for a signing. Any of the top players would fit into that description.

the player must have talent but he could also be a big flop as he could for example be great player in the scotland prem but when he comes to the english prem he would find it much harder as english league football is of higher quality
