I've been read descriptions of some trucks online and alot of them say that they have 4 inches of backspacing. What is backspacing and how much does it cost?

Backspacing costs nothing. The correct backspace of a wheel is the distance from the inside of the wheel where wheel meets hub to a straight line across the back side of the outer rim. You must use a standard rim to learn the correct backspace. You need this number of inches when picking non standard rim widths. Never change the OEM ( original equipment manufactures) standard backspace. The backspace is determined by spindle, brake drum, disc, caliper, and inner fender well clearances.
