I'm mexican and I do not know How a Mexican is treated by the Americans in E.UA
I know to americans that they live here in mexico city and they are very amiable

America is in large part a racist society that still holds it aire of superiority against foreigners and people who are not of their color. I know this from first hand experience. There are a lot of good people who think they know what's right, but in the end lump people together into whatever stereotype they have seen on the evening news. Why do Latinos and African Americans have the lowest level of earnings and education in America? They aren't the right color. I suppose the Mexico City folk are more open minded because they live in Mexico City. I look at some of the answers here on Yahoo! on other questions and I am appalled at the racist remarks. You can find your place here, and you can find good people. But Americans aren;t very accepting of anyone different, for whatever reason (race, class, disability, etc.) so be aware that your experiences will at least be mixed.

Depends on where you go.

If you're in some parts of Southern California, like LA, you may have problems with gangs.

Smaller towns in the South and states like Utah and Colorado are sometimes against immigrants, too, which I hate to say but that's what I've seen and heard.

Everywhere else you go, you shouldn't have any major problems.

There are jerks everywhere, but usually the level-headed, polite people outnumber the jerks.

I have worked for 18 years for american companies like DuPont, HLA, GE, Coperion and some others, and i had to trave very often to the USA, i can tell you i have been always been respected as a foreigner...

what i can tell you american companies do not like of mexicans?

1)do not be late to the meetings
2)show respect for other identities (i.e. gays, colored, asians, etc)
3)call people for their first name.
4)if you said you are going to deliver something at certain time..please do so..

Not all americans are nice. You will be treated with respect as long as you give respect. Also show some respect for our culture. If you come here you will be treated fine.
