osmosis = diffusion of water.

Thus, diffusion and difference in solvent concentration (concentration gradient) are absolutley essential. The differentially permeable membrane is also essential- if the membrane were permeable to the solute then diffusion of the solvent would not occur.

Facilitated transport is different from active transport in that in active transport ATP energy is required, but this is not the case in FT.

Thus, all answers are correct.

Osmosis is a passive process of diffusion. It will involve a selective membrane and it requires a difference in the concentration of solvent. In the case of biological systems the solvent is water.

the permeable membrane, the solvent going from least to most concentration

facilitated transport involves living tissue (plasma membranes) actually "pushing" solute and solvent across the membrane, against the flow. Think ion channels regulating H2O by creating a proton gradient of K+ on the inside of the cell and Na+ on the outside.

The answer is 'difference in solvent concentration." Technically, osmosis refers exclusively to water (as the solvent). Other solvents would technically be diffusion.

I would say all of them - but I'm no scientist - just using common sense. Am I right?

depending on the type of cell, it could be all or one specific.
