I am not trying to be rude in saying this but ... Why do you feel sorry for Native Americans? We are not different then any other race of people. Please don't "pity' us. Believe me when I say this; we have a strong sense of worth. And no race of man can ever take that from us! No matter what they did or what they do!! No one is superior to us! We know who we are and where we come from. So please don't feel bad for us Natives! And thank you Taurus for your comment!

I don't think it's a matter of superiority, if you're defining superior as better. Its more a matter of having different cultural priorities. At the time of European conquest of the Americas, the population densities of Europe and the Americas were very different. Having a dense population gave Europe a culture that was very dependant on trade for meeting its needs. They also had more diseases that people built immunity to. When they came to the Americas, they found a people who were more reliant on smaller communities and who didn't have immunity to the European diseases. This led the Europeans to think of the Native Americans as weak, physically because they were felled by simple diseases that all children in Europe faced, culturally because they didn't have as many large, imposing cities.

I think that a lot of what the Europeans who came here EVENTUALLY worked out well. I wish that they had paid more attention to what the Native Americans were willing to teach them about harmony with the world around them.

Seems more a statement then a question...

True enough, though I wouldn't offend a strong people with putting "pity" on them... They were/are given a hard fight, but they have held on well...give them time...

The white people have ALWAYS been prejudice of other races. That's just how they were. I feel sorry for the Native Americans too!

I am white and my command of proper grammar and language techniques are clearly superior to yours. I weep for your future children.
