Humans don't actually see Any object. What we do see is Light that is reflected off of objects. A perfectly dark room has no light, therefore there is none reflected off of objects toward our eyes. No light, no reflection, no sensory stimulation from reflection (no sight).

There is no light reflected off of the object. In order for your eyes to see an object, light has to be reflected back to your eyes and focused on the retina. If there is no light source, then no object can be seen.

In order to see objects, light must hit the object and is reflected into the eyes. The picture goes to the retina from where it travels along the optic nerve upside down to the brain which transposes the image back to the correct orientation and into the picture. as you see it
In a perfectly dark room, there is no light to carry out this process.

I've reflected long and hard on this one, and after much deliberation have come to the conclusion that it's because it's too dark and you need light to see by.
