My english teacher is a total retard and she treats my class like 3rd graders. So tonight we have to write a valentines acrostic using whatever phrase we picked out of a bowl of conversation hearts. I got a really stupid one and I have no idea how to make an acrostic out of it. I got "too cool" (romantic isnt it?) so anyways, any help would be nice

Together Forever our love lies
Over heard,the birds
Often i sigh

Comfy n cozy in your arms
Open to your love
Others swayed by your charms
Love it shines,like stars above

Poor You!
I HATE ACROSTICS!!
That is a terrible, lame assignment. I feel your pain.

For the first letters choose from this list. For the L, use Love

T words: Trusting, Truthful, Tender

O words: Oath, Oasis, Oblivion, Ode, Oneness, Only, Optimism

C words: Considerate, Caring

L words: Love

Too bad your teacher doesn't sound like she has a sense of humor. You could do one called "My Funny Valentine" then use words like obnoxious and odoriferous
For the last line you could write: Love her anyway.

Bleh. Poetry can be so cool. This assignment so isn't

Good luck w/ the rest of the year.

My sympathies on your assigned phrase! :p :)

I love to write acrostics (although I admit it's more fun when you get to pick the word/phrase yourself!). I recommend setting up a "template" of sorts: Put the phrase on your fav word processor, but vertically, like this:

T
O
O

C
O
O
L

...and then you can just "fill in the blanks" by coming up with something for each line, and you can change things however you like, as many times as you like. And it'll be a whole lot easier than it would have been otherwise! :)

I hope it goes well for you! I wouldn't mind seeing what you come up with, too. (I love to see other poets' work, amateur or whatever.)

Today is a great day
One on which I can gratefully
Open my heart to those who stay on

Chilly February winds
Offering their friendship and love
On a day devoted for us
Let's not waste this special day.

Ok that's pretty bad, choppy, and cheesy, but I hope it helps -_-
