How come I cant change carriers when I bought the phone?

Is it possible to unlock it? If so where and how?

You can change carriers if your phone is CDMA you have to us a carrier that uses CDMA technology if it is GSM you have to select a carrier that uses GSM technology. You can get unlocking codes from ebay for 15-30 dollars
