It depends, as of right now who gets the # 1 pick. Currently the 3 worst teams in the league are blazers, celtics, and bobcats. If the bobcats get the number 1 pick, their taking durant,if the celtics get the pick, their taking oden, and if the blazers get it they will take durant. My personal opinon however is that the first player taken should be oden.Players like durant come around every year. Ex(Mcgrady,Garnett,Anthony,Marvin Williams, rudy gay, morrison, lebron, odom, and etc.). How many pure centers are there in the league who can demand a double team and change the coarse of a game defensively. All in all, players like oden come around once every 10 years, while players like durant come around almost every year.

kevin durant and greg oden is more of a give or take situation. since they're both big men, number one and two teams in the draft lottery will be happy to grab them. i think oden has been hyped up to be the better potential (critics say he'll be better as a rookie than lebron/mj was his rookie year) than any other player in the present. thus, the name of durant is still relatively unknown compared to oden, and so it won't be a surprise to see oden be taken 1st overall.
this means that the REAL issue is who's gonna be number one and two in the draft next year?
seeing as how the celtics are on the run for the worst record, but fate tends to screw those who need luck the most, celtics might get number 2 or 3 pick at best. number 1, then in terms of necessity/need, should go to the milwaukee (they REALLY need a big with redd and mo williams), memphis (if pau gasol is traded), or philly (no offensive inside presence).
we'll see. maybe charlotte or atlanta, two times who already are stuffed with big forwards, will get the lucky draw.

Greg Oden will most definitely be the #1 pick next year, but look for Durant to be chosen right after him.

there's a great chance he'll win college player of the year but unless something drastic happens to Greg Oden there's no chance.
Durant is a great offensive talent but he's missing quite a few tools on the defensive end.
Greg oden is ready to go on the defensive and offensive end in the NBA.
There is also the theory that centers win championships, and greg oden is the type of center you can build around.
Like they always say in ESPN. You can't teach height!
