You cannot go wrong with Eleanor Roosevelt, although she was as maligned in her time as Mrs Clinton is today. The others mentioned, Maya Angelou, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, even Carrie A. Nation (an example of the disaster that can come from following moral policing) are great old time models...Sandra Day O Connor, Ruth Ginzberg, Nancy Pelosi...Gloria Steinem...the list grows and grows. Eisenhower's mother would be an interesting study.

Do some searches on Elanore Roosevelt. She did quite a bit for the poor and had a great deal of influence on her husband, President Franklin Roosevelt. She also represented the United States at the United Nations. She was known and admired all over the world.

Condoleeza Rice comes to mind, Emilia Eyerhart is another, she was a great aviation pioneer, but check the spelling of her name first if you choose her. My choice would be Olive Oil though, what a honey!!!
