i have to do an essay on comparing Star Wars with Star Trek. And sorry for the Star Trek fans but I am trying to make Star Wars look better. Still I wanna show that i know something about Star Trek so that I don't have an essay that says one thing about Star Trek and everything else about Star Wars. If some one cam tell me what the base story is on the show or help me on this i would love it. If you can help me here or help me even more on IM or email I would appreciate it.

Even better than Steve's link, this wiki is all about Star Trek: http://www.memory-alpha.org

There's pretty much everything you've ever wanted to know about Star Trek on that site, and probably a few things that will make you wonder about the sanity of the people who write on there!

Some Star Trek premises:
-Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. Anybody, no matter what their race, color, creed, or planet of orgin, can learn to live and work together.
-War, poverty, and discrimination have been theoretically eliminated among humans. Money doesn't exist anymore because no one wants for anything.
-The Enterprise can go up to 1000 times the speed of light.
-The Vulcans are a peaceful, logical race. The Klingons are warlike. The Romulans are very much like the Roman Empire in organization. The Borg are cybernetic zombies. The Ferengi are greedy capitalists.
-Starfleet has a regulation forbidding interference in alien cultures. It is called the Prime Directive and it is occasionally ignored.

Good luck with your paper!

Star Trek is an adventure in space. It is about a federation called starfleet who send starships out to explore our galaxy which is called the Alpha Quadrant. To make peaceful relationships with the races they encounter. Their main mission is to boldly go where no one has gone before. The Enterprise is the flagship of the federation. It is the biggest ship the one which is always sent out when things get tough. Such as the borg attack stardate: 43989.1.

i do no longer comprehend, yet basically as a factor of activity, I certainly have heard on such places via fact the "Coast to Coast" radio software that "celebrity Trek" replace into provided as a potential to help prepare people for the certainty that the universe is teeming with clever existence. The circumstances have been fictional, however the assumption replace into there. Who is conscious? Even on "celebrity Trek" i think of that they have got been surprisingly plenty restrained to this Milky way galaxy. What relating to the hundreds of thousands of alternative galaxies? there replace into specific to be fairly some action obtainable too. evaluate the selection of existence in the worldwide. so some distance as we are in contact, a lobster or a giraffe or a aardvark would desire to look like an alien being if we weren't used to seeing them around. There are people who firmly have faith that "celebrity Trek" replace right into a potential of making waiting us for added-terrestial existence. I have no theory if that's genuine. Now take "King-Kong". That replace right into a very genuine tale...

Baseline of story: Pioneer exploration of space, no specific goal other than pursuit of knowledge.

Generic Episode Plot Summary:
* Ship encounters some new species which tricks or traps the crew in some way. Eventually escape.
* Captain trapped, seduces some exotic woman to escape.
* Ship transports some diplomat somewhere on urgent mission. Something goes wrong, diplomat killed or annoyed, eventually find it is a sabotaging alien.

I think that just about sums it up.

The base story of star trek is to seek out new life and new civilizations and to boldly go where no one has gone before...."Why did Captain Kirk pee on the ceiling? He wanted to go where no man had ever gone before" lol just alittle joke to my response.
