how do i find the sale tax of an item?

Look at the reciept, it seperates the price and tax. If you don't have that multiply your sales tax percentage times the price.

Find out what the rate of sales tax is in your state. It is usually a percent. Then multiply the amount of your purchase by the percent to get the amount of sales tax.
