If you are talking about planets then Venus is or closest neighbor at .733 au (astronomical units where the distance between the sun and earth is 1.0 au). If you are talking about stars, then Alpha Centari is our nearest neighbor at 4.4 ly (light years where 1 ly is the distance light travels in 1 earth year). And if you mean the nearest galaxy, that is the Andromeda Galaxy at approximately 2 million light years.

Most of the nearest stars are red dwarfs that are so dim you need a telescope just to see them. But the nearest star of all, Alpha Centauri, is quite bright, but only visible from the southern hemisphere. The brightest star in the sky, Sirius, is the next closest naked eye star. See the source for a complete list, including distances.
