I played college football and while I used to get down on myself for not making the NFL, I'm kinda glad that I'm not playing because I've never suffered a major injury and I still have my body in full capacity. I've been reading articles about so many pro players who live in great pain after reteirment.

Well as u know the sprot is very hard on the joints, and the longer u play, the more likely u r to have long-term ramifications, let along surgeries.

I remember hearing once that the average life span for a NFLer is about 15 years shorter than the average person. Beyond that , I have heard/read lots of horror stories about life after football. Most of it is bad knees or other joints, and the accompanying addiction to pain killers.

i'm sure the money will help ease the pain. they seem to live with the pain. the only thing that gets them if they had to retire BECAUSE of injuries.
