Why didnt the earlier disney movies seem to make much locational reference as the later ones?

I noticed that some of the old disney movies like the jungle book, they dont make much reference to the movie being in India, since there is no indian music playing, and the indian girl at the end is stereotypical, and the architecture is stereotypical. Then in pinocchio, I would have not known it was in Italy, cinderella, snow white and sleeping beauty, i dont know where they are. The later movies, like the little mermaid make european references, the hunchback and beauty and the beast make french references, aladdin makes arab references, pocahontas makes both english and native references, and mulan makes chinese reference. And i have noticed disney songs like arabian nights, bells of notre dame, belle, be our gest, steady as the beating drum, virginia company, fathoms below, and to bring honor to us all seem to sound more like the culture they represent, verses music from the older movies.

Because that was the style at the time. No one really cared that they might be perpetuating stereotypes etc....Same reason you had people in black face in old films and white people with makeup portraying (badly) American Indians/native Americans. They did what they wanted to to sell their product. No one protested because thse groups had no say at the time. These days the audience includes people all over the world, so they are more circumspect with their stories and characters.

Disneys old movies were made in a time when movies did not make locational references. His earlier movies were for America Audience mostly. There were few color actors then. You had white actors in "Black Face". More modern Disney movies have internation references today because Disney movies are seen all over the globe.

My popular Disney action picture would be the Little Mermaid. I used to observe that when i grew to become right into a infant each and daily and repeat it for what number cases in an afternoon! LOL I even knew each and each word they say and that i won't be in a position to help yet say the words and sing with the characters mutually as observing the finished action picture!
