I'm sorry you're depressed. If you are thinking about taking your life, please go to an emergency room immediately! Otherwise, please see an ecclesiastical leader, your parents, or someone else who cares about you and can help you.

Along with what other people have said there may also be crisis hotlines around your own hometown. Some are specifically set up for gay and lesbian teens who are depressed and just need to talk to someone who understands while others are more generic.

If you truly feel that you need help from a psychologist anti-depressants may be a good idea (personally I hate the use of psychoactive drugs and think that most people can deal with their problems more naturally. Incidentally as a natural substitute St John's wort extract has been shown to act like a natural anti-depressant but please if you decide to use it, use it with care!!).

Often if you can confide your problems (perhaps you're depressed about being gay; I'm not sure hon) in one highly trusted person it can be a tremendous help. It no longer feels like you're all alone and having to bear the burden all by yourself. I'm sure that there are people around you who love you deeply. Please don't to anything hasty in your depression!

I wish you the very best of luck!

Call the Trevor Project help line (show in another post above). It's a legitimate support group for gay teens and young adults. You need to know that you're not alone.

And remember to take good care of yourself.

Love, and God bless.

(And you people with your "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps, why are you depressed?" advice don't know the first thing about depression and should button your lips if you don't have anything more helpful to say than that.)

Just remember this. All people encounter depression in their life at certain time. So don't take that seriously. The best thing to do is get those negative thoughts out in your mind and let the positive thoughts in. Make sure you walk and drink a lot and be happy and of course Prayer is the key in life. Go for it. Life is too short, don't let demons in.

Why r u depressed?

You still have life and the fact that you r reaching out says you value your life.

Seek God and seek help from a spiritual leader.

You're never so far down that He cannot reach you...you just need to reach up to Him.

Be blessed.

1st question is, why are you depressed? It shouldnt be because you are gay. You cant help who you are and you shouldn't have to hide or be ashamed of it. Stand proud of who you are and dont let anyone put you down.

Try www.glnh.org

Why is this a good site?

-It's FREE
-They won't call you back (and out you)
-They encourage and inspire you
-Great words of advise from other gays/lesbians

What are some downsides?

-The phone can take forever to get through. (Email will be faster but not as personal.

I highly suggest you check it out!!!

What is wrong? Why are you so down? Get out do something. Take a walk. Don't be alone. Find your support people. The ones who remind you to love yourself because you are worthy.
