my son is getting his first couple of teeth in, and when he sucks, sometimes he'll clamp down and i can feel his little teeth pinching me!!!! i would like to know if there are any nipples that are closest to the breast to make the transition??? also he has only nursed, no substitutions, so is it better to transition to the bottle or a cup??? and if anyone knows of a good nipple out there that is more like the breast???? i don't mind spending some money, just want to know what works!!!!

Teething is no reason to wean!!!!!!!!!! When the baby clamps down pull him towards your breast and he will open his mouth in order to breathe. Repeat "no biting" in a serious, but not angry, voice.

BABIES NEED BREASTMILK FOR AT LEAST 12 MONTHS!!!!!!!!

I weaned my daughter at 9months, She was already down to 3 breastfeeds a day, I started by taking away the lunch time feed, Giving a bottle instead (Avent), it took a couple of days, then she was fine with it, a week later i took the morning feed away and gave a bottle with no probs at all, Lastly was the 7pm-ish feed.
Within a month she was fully weaned.
A good tip I was given if bub won't take the bottle was to let someone else(hubby, friend or your mum-whoever you can get!!!) give him the bottle so he can't smell your milk, after the first week he should be right.

My middle daughter was taking a sippy cup at 6 months old. She never had a bottle. (She was breastfed as well) I drank from the sippy cup to kind of show her how to do it, and she picked it up right away. A bottle might be a bit easier for him to learn, but you'll have to wean your son off them soon too right?

Avent is the best on the market..thats what i found anyways...my daughter used to bite and the avent nipple is more like a real nipple...it also reduces colic...
