No no no no. "Excuse" was a very good word. Before I forget, I want to say that some people confuse supporting our troops with supporting the reason they are are "there." Whenever I see a bumper sticker "Support our troops!" I'm tempted to add in marking pen, BRING THEM BACK. In the AP I received today, there was a quote from Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, re the materials used in devices used by Iraq. ""That does not translate that the Iranian government per se, for sure, is directly involved in doing this. What it does say is that things made in Iran are being used in Iraq to kill coalition soldiers." But, of course, Pace commands no troops, & is not in the chain of command that runs from the president to the secretary of defense, in other words, who cares? Well, the press did, & what's his face answered evasively, just as the puckered browed winky gave his same old same old speech. I saw Mohammad Ali Hosseini on TV, & he said: "Such accusations cannot be relied upon or presented as evidence. THE UNITED STATES HAS A LONG HISTORY IN FABRICATING EVIDENCE. [My caps, of course] Such charges are unacceptable." I can only hope rational minds will stop this insanity. I have speculated on Bush's greed for oil, & his pathology. I believe he'll cross the line, yet again. I would NOT support invading Iran; I did not support invading Iraq. How many times can the people of this country be duped?

welshypri~it's a grand "theory" that we were/are fighting for Iraqi freedom. Some people still think Iraq was responsible for 9/11, so there you go. If you saw with your own eyes, you'd know they're far, far worse off than before Suddam's "downfall." They are in a CIVIL WAR. & terrorists are propragating like rabbits.

I hear that for the Iran production they are getting a whole new team of excuse writers. George II is just tired of rolling out the same old same old, invisible AlQuaeda cells, non existant weapons of mass destruction, war on terrorism blah blah.

Time for some brand new rhetoric this time based on the possibility that Iran may be devilishly planning to exercise its right as a self governing independant sovereign nation to use its own nuclear power by products for whatever it damn well pleases, including nuclear weapons with which the USA has either bullied or threatened the rest of the world for the last half century.

Sadly the so called good guys have actually proved to be the worst bad guys since The Third Reich. The Yanks as a nation really believe that all they are doing is fighting terrorism what they are in fact doing is feeding the fire which is promoting terrorism. The best chance the west had of preventing Iran getting Nukes was Saddam Hussein. But oops we overthrew and executed him.
I didnt support the invasion of Iraq and I certainly wont support British troops being involved in any invasion of Iran.

the U. S. would not invade Israel! we are allies. If something, it may be Israel hitting Iran (via fact of Ahmadinejad's threats to "wipe Israel off the map") and the U. S. helping Israel in some potential. If Israel does bomb Iran via a nuclear risk, it is going to use nuclear weapons in some degree. the U. S. will grant naval blockades. One trident sub has sufficient potential to kill 2 hundred million human beings, yet would not be needed. All of this would by no potential take place via fact the Iranians would rapidly tire of Ahmadinejad's bellicose threats. Iranians are non violent. purely the mullahs seem to seek for a conflict.

Yes , But when the whole world can see that there is no Option but to protect the "Free World" from a Developing Monster and massive Nuclear Destruction --- as we all can see they are stoking the fires in Iraq 24/7 by supplying Weapons of all Kinds , and are being led by a Raving, Demented Power Mad Lunatic ......

Support Iran?

2007-02-12 12:56:09 · answer #6 · answered by Spotlight 5 · 2 2

Will you?

What is the supposed reason to invade Iran?

Presumably coz they want Iraq...which is mostly Shia Muslim like Iran anyway.

Isnt the real question : are we goimg to let those pesky Muslims mop up yet ANOTHER oil-rich state and hold us to ransom?

Isnt the real question : why did Bush invade Iraq in the firts place?

Will escalation of violence make this world a safer place?

No, and I am an American. I cannot believe what has happened to my country in 6 short years. We are not a colonial power, the entire country is predicated on freedom of choice...I am at a loss for words. We were an oppressed colonial province ourselves, not that Bush knows his history all that well. Or at all apparently.

And with all regards to tmnasn above, not all Americans march in goosestep, as I assume all Brits didn't love all of Thatchers wonderful schemes. As Ricky Gervais said, you used to run the world before we did, and it was the British who actually established the faux country of Iraq out of several tribes that historically hated each other. It was over oil then too. Please do not generalise so much. And please do not paint any of the major European countries as innocents. I do not approve of my country's path at all, but those without blood on their hands please stand up...not so fast Europe. All I ask is that you not judge all of us as as being culpable. I did not vote for Bush, as about 50% of Americans did not as well.....this is not our war(s) We are trying to rectify this crazy power grab.

I doubt we will invade Iran, the public (even the conservatives) has had the wool pulled from their eyes now.

No, it's time people realised the invasion into other peoples countries is without doubt, illegal. A country as powerful as the USA, if threatened by any other country could wipe them off the face of the earth. Given that (which i think most people will agree with) what the hell are the USA up to with Iraq, Iran, and Korea, the USA seem to me to be the aggressors
