Years ago I read a great book about a hawk and a fighting rooster. Anyone know it? And the title or author?

It was an interesting character study of the lives of a young chicken who became fighting rooster and a hawk whos lives crossed as they both fought for survival. I must have read it in the 70's or 80's but it was pretty old then, I think. I hope someone remembers it and can help me fnd it.

may be u should try searching on ebooks3, or any online library, sorry i cant help any more, but i remember some day ago i was surfing and i came across a site may be it may help it was something weista online library may be u should try that. sorry if cant help
