People expect celebrities to be perfect and then act as if a new black hole has been discovered when they learn they are just as messed up as the average joe. I have NEVER looked up to these people and will always teach my kids the same.
Just because celebrities are in the public eye 24/7 does not make them idols and God-like beings. We cannot rely on these people for perfect levels of relationship matters, health and fashion.
What ever happened to loving yourself for who you are and not wanting to be like a celebrity? I do not and will not ever get wrapped up in Hollywood and I hope that all who are reading this follow suite...
If you want a role model and a good one for your kids, start with you...

I think we are obsessed to see their lives can be just as screw up as ours or better. Maybe some of us live boring lives. So we live out some of our fantasies through celebrities. I think the media hype it up too. They repeat the same story over and over again. It gets program in your brain. Look at how many TV shows are dedicated to celebrities. We believe what the media say is fashion. The latest diet. What food we should eat. What size we should be. What celebrity we should like or dislike. Skinny is "in" in Hollywood but in the real world size 13 and 14 is normal. Hollywood or the media tells us what is beautiful and we believe them. We get a glimpse of the beautiful people in the world who seem to have the everything, but who are actually as imperfect and human as the rest of us. As we can see through Anna Nicole, she was rich and famous but die a lonely and sad woman.

Just pure noisness. Celebrities have a lives that not to many people have. I would love to be paid millions for a episode of my life, nevermind a character that I am being asked to learn, so when they mess up it usually doing something we cannot afford to do or something that makes you think with all they have they're doing that. My life looks really good now.

I think in the case of Ronaldo and other sports stars, its not really their fault they are being paid ridiculous amounts of money, For JK Rowling, she's been fortunate enough to create a popular children's character, and lets face it, kids are cash cows to the entertainment industry. The likes of reality TV shows, we all have the opportunity to put ourselves up for them. I don't personally compare my wealth or lack of it to anyone, I could get all bitter about not making as much as Ronaldo, or I could think myself lucky that I have more than the homeless man on the street or the starving millions around the world. If I want to earn more money, I'll get of my bum and go earn it, not moan about others wealth.

I believe people want to see other people that have more problems then themselves. It's messed up, but true. Human nature makes us curious, and that curiosity is usually spurred on by wanting to relate- and since most of us can't relate to being mega-rich and uber-beautiful, we relate better when they go on the downward spiral. It makes them more real, and makes us feel a little less bad for not being famous or 'perfect'... sadly, that is our media influenced life now.

I think it is just human nature to cut down...make fun of....gossip about....ect..these people, as they are so much in the public view that we feel like we know them (although we only know what the business wants us to know) we can get away with judgments with no risks....it is completely one sided and safe for *us*.....if we acted this way with people that we actually know...there would be consequences. I think that the majority of people have a sleazy mean spirit....and this is how it comes out.

Because we love to gossip and love the fact that despite them having more money, we are happier and healthier than them!
