Why is it when I get up early in the morning, than go back to sleep, my dreams are really strange and very vivid? And while I'm laying there I'll get these feelings like I can't move and I'm gasping for air while my eyes are closed?

When you're drifting in and out of sleep in the morning, you aren't giving yourself a chance to fall into the deep stages of sleep, only into REM sleep when most dreams happen.

The feelings of being unable to move and gasping for air are likely due to the fact that your brain and body tend to be disconnected when you are asleep. However, you may want to consider searching "night terrors", as people with night terrors have similar complaints.

Breathe

To dream that you are breathing rapidly, indicates that you are experiencing some anxiety, tension, or fear concerning a new situation in your waking life.

To dream that you are breathing underwater, represents a retreat back into the womb. You want to return to a state where you were dependent and free from responsibilities. Perhaps you are feeling helpless, unable to fulfill your own needs and caring for yourself. Alternatively, you may be submerged in your emotions.

To dream that you are holding your breath, indicates your stubborn state of mind. Your views may be one-sided and the dream is telling you to be open to the opinions of others.

To dream that you cannot breathe, indicates that you are feeling exhausted
hope this helps you it sounds really scary!!
