Do homosexuals get bashed alot by Christians on this section of YA?
I am not a Christian but if it makes you feel any better I support your free choice to be gay.

I am on the religion section of Yahoo Answers alot and sometimes hear about Christians causing trouble over here.

As many Christians, I was told homosexuality was wrong, evil, etc... I could never understand how the God I loved could damn the children he made. In fact, it was churches damnation of GBLT that almost drove me away from church.
Fortunately, I was able to learn more about what the bible says rather than mans interpretation of it that has saved my faith.
When I read what the trolls say, I really get mad. I am guilty of the nasty retort. Reason does not work with the die hard fundamentalist. I pray for the day that everyone excepts all for who they are not what they look like or the things they do. I am saddened by the fact it probably wont happen in my generation.
By the way; being gay is no more a choice than we being heterosexual.

Christians - love the sinner hate the sin. I have seen families pray hard for their gay children to "give up the lifestyle" and only accept and love them if they do. What about accepting them for who they are - brown eyes or blue - gay or straight - not a choice but nature. I haven't seen many that just accept. Lots that want to help them change. So on this section of YA I read a lot of dogma but no real bashing.

Yeah, I'm Christian but I totally support my gay friends and what they are going through. I believe it's not my place to judge others, and those who get on here and totally bash homosexuals need to go read their Bible a little more "Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone"

I'm a Christian and I support anyone's choice to become gay. Honestly, i'm not happy with them being gay but it is THEIR choice and no one else has a right to bash them for it. Hopefully others agree with me on that, but there are some people that still bash homosexuals here.

we get bashed all the time by people who "claim" to be Christians...but are truly bigots who "use" religion to justify their hatred. I grew up being taught that Christianity is about love and acceptance, and that God created and loves us all.
While being gay is how we were born, not a "choice," we appreciate your support.

I am straight, but I am Christian. Some Christians do bash homosexuals, but really, the average Christian thinks that it is not in our place to preach. Catholics, on the other hand, mainly slaughter homosexuals. They are not at all kind to those who are not straight.

It's funny, some but not all. A lot of Christians are very supportive of the LGBT community, its just that there are some sects that are so vocally denigrating that it seems like they are strong in numbers but they really aren't.

Yeah, there's a lot of bashing going on here. Some of it is by trolls who are just looking to get a reaction. A lot of them, though, are fundamental Christians who like to spread the hate and intolerance around.

I think its divided. God said be fritful and multiply. Gays - dont blame us christians, blame God. Very Religious people who believe the bible follow Gods wishes.
Gays like to rub in that they are Gay, Oh- we need Gay rights, Oh we want Gay Marriage , Gay parades...
Its not normal to be gay - thats why Gays are divided and Gays are the ones who want to divide themselfs from society and have special treatment. Now, we have to rewrite laws for them too. The Catholics should have just let them Priests get married!

I wouldn't know. As a Christian, I don't think it's right to be gay, but I can certainly respect that choice, and don't have to be mean or bashful about it.
The real question would be, why do they doubt their own sexuality?
