I don't see why it should be illegal. If you're going to interview them for a job, then you're going to see what they look like eventually anyway. And it would be nice to be able to place the person with the resume so that you know it's them when they show up.

Personally, if someone asked for a photo along with a resume, I wouldn't even send them the resume. What do these idiots want? Are you applying for a job as a catwalk model? If not, tell them to shove their job where the sun don't shine!

It's probably discriminatory, but you HAVE to be able to PROVE IT!

I have not heard if this is illegal but it sounds irregular. I have never been asked for a photo it has nothing to do with my work I usually have a photo taken for ID's after am hired

I think it's really inappropriate and would make you look prejudice possibly (if you're trying to weed out a certain race or age, etc). I know you are never supposed to submit a photo with your resume.

Unless the position applied for is knowingly contingent on their appearance, like a model or stripper, this would be regarded as discrimination.
