Neither.

You want to stay away from foods with ingredients such as corn, wheat, fillers, beef and by products. All of those ingredients are hard for your dog or puppy to digest.

Some bad foods are Iams, Purina, Alpo, Science Diet, Pedigree, Kibble and Bits, Diamond, Eukanuba and Bil Jack.

Some GOOD foods are Natures Recipe, Nutro Max, Lassie Natural Way and Royal Chain.

I personally recommend Natures Recipe. It is an all natural food and extremely healthy for puppies and dogs. It leads to a shinny coat and a healthy body. It also cuts down on shedding, bad breath and the amount of stool your dog produces.

Natures Recipe had different bags for different size dogs and ages.

It will say on the bag how much and how often to feed them.

Before switching foods you want to check with your vet and make sure your dog or pup has no health problems.

After that you want to switch him or her slowly otherwise it will make him or her sick.

For the first week do 25% new and 75% old
Second week 50% new and 50% old
Third week 75% new and 25% old
Then they can have all new food starting the forth week.

You can find those healthy foods at your local Pet Smart or Pet Co.

Also stay away from rawhide and human food as neither are healthy for your dog. Stay with his dog food and Natural or compressed bones.

Also remember wet food should only be given as a treat. As it sticks to their teeth and can make them very gassy.

In general there isn't any "better" food. Those two brands are both decent. In general their foods are made the same way any other foods are. All dog foods tend to have the same nutrients and vitamins except for the "naturals" which leave out anything artificial. Iams has many fillers and isn't the healthiest brand. Petsmart has a natural brand called Authority which is very good for dogs and is very affordable. I have had experience with both pedigree and eukanuba. My dog loved eukanuba more but it just depends on the dog and their preferences. Eukanuba is from Iams and is the same. It really depends on what you can afford and what your willing to spend. Im not saying take your dog off it's food. Infact no dog food really reduces life expectancy or anything like that. Do what you think works best for you. If any dog food was harmfull they wouldn't sell it. Your a good owner for wanting to know and any choice you make for your dog and you is the right one. The things i can think of that top both brands is Canidae and Royal Canin which is breed specific. I hope I helped you in at least a little.

Eukanuba is better. But Chicken SOup for the Dog's Soul is a good brand. So is Royal Canin.

Eukanuba and Hills Science Diet are really good foods. But there are so many on the market. Speak with your vet to help you determine what you should be feeding, what your dog requires.

Some dog, working dogs for instance, require more protien and fat than house dogs. Then compare labels for the percentages that your vet recommends. You may find a great food with a smaller price tag than either eukanuba or science diet.

Neither is a good choice. take a look at the ingredients list. Your dog should not be eating meal, by-products, corn, rice, glueten of any kind or any 'meat' they can't identify by name.
If you're going to spend the money, take a look at some good foods like solid gold, nature's variety, merrick, natural balance, newman's organic, verus, etc. Look for whole, real identified ingredients as the first five ingredients at least!

Compare pedigree canned ingredients:
Sufficient Water for Processing, Poultry, Beef, Meat By-Products, Wheat Flour, Wheat Gluten,

They can't even tell you what animals the by products were from!

compare to Merrick canned ingredients
Beef, Beef Broth, Beef Liver, Fresh Sweet Potatoes, Fresh Carrots, Fresh Green Beans, Fresh Granny Smith Apples,

which would you rather eat?

between the two i would have to say eukanuba. but that does not mean it is the best dog food out there. i currently feed my dogs eukanuba and they have both done very well on it. they also get fed meat, and vegies and fruit because it is good for them and they love it. they only get small portions because i dont want to over feed them. i also have one of my cats on eukanuba sensitive stomach because it is the only thing that her poor stomach can handle.

I personally have fed my dogs pedigree for years. They love the taste of it and the variety of it. It is healthy for them and gives them the nutrients they need. Just make sure you feed them the reccommended amount on the bag so you dont over feed them. The problem I have seen with the all natural dog foods is it tends to give dogs real bad gas and who wants that!

I personally thought Iams was the best dog food for a long time, then my vet said to put one of my dogs on Science Diet - usually only available in specialty shops and at the vet. Then I was out of dog food and the usual places I bought dog food were closed so i bought some of wal-Mart's dog food - Ol' Roy. My dogs loved it! Been feeding it ever since! I haven't been able to find a single dog that doesn't like Ol' Roy ever since.

Pedigree...it has less preservatives in it. Also, the new policy of pedigree foods is that for every bag you buy, they donate a portion of the money to animal adoption programs. Great work, i think. ; )

Neither are great foods. I would recommend Wellness, Canidae, Nature's Variety or if you are willing to spend the money, Timberwolf Organics.
