No, usually what happens is they will take some kind of identification and information from you and work something out where you will pay back the money at a later time. Of course, if you do not explain the situation to them, they WILL call the police. Also if you do not pay them back as agreed I'm sure they are smart enough not to let you eat there again.

Usualy you aren't eating alone so one of the two or more of you must have something to pay or even a credit card among you. If not then one has to wait at the restaurant while the other runs to the nearest ATM. They might make yoou uleave your car keys to walk down the street to an ATM.

Some places call the cops others probably beat the crap out of you. That would be pretty cool to go to nice restaraunts, charge up a $500 meal and then do $50 worth of work to pay for it.

I never tried not paying, but I don't think they let you wash dishes for them! That just happens in the movies.

No. They call the cops and press charges. If you don't pay your bill and leave, then the waitress is responsible to pick up your tab. Think about that for a minute.

No, you usually beg them to let you wash the dishes because the punk who's beating the shat out of you is hitting you too hard.

If your Italian and older looking than some restaraunts won't even make you pay especially if your in an area with crime families. I know because i remember my grandpa used to take us places and sometimes we would just walk out without paying and they wouldn't say anything.
