The MGM is not only a great hotel with great restaurants - it's located in a great spot on the strip so you can walk almost any where.

I have stayed in literally every hotel in Las Vegas and the MGM is probably in the middle. It is not that expensive when compared to some, but you need to ask yourself just how much time do you expect to spend in your room. If you aren't planning on staying in your room all the time, then it is more than adequate and it is in a good location. If you plan on spending time in your room, then stay at the Bellagio, Venetian, or an upgraded room at Caesar's. The Mandalay Bay also has very nice rooms for a little more money, and their pool is probably the best in Las Vegas. You need to figure out how much you want to spend on a room and then get on line and look at prices and availability for the dates you are planning to go. Remember, if there are conventions in town, the room rates can triple. They may be $400 per night during the week and $600 on the weekend while the convention is in town, and drop to $150 per night during the week if nothing is going on. One other point, Las Vegas no longer offers "cheap" rooms because they don't have to. The supply has finally been passed by the demand. I prefer the suites at the Venetian. They run between $250 and $450 per night depending on the time of year, but they are really nice rooms and the location isn't bad either. Have fun.

Yes. I stayed there one night because David Copperfield has a show there. It's expensive. It's in a good location. It's a tall building so it has a good view, depending one what side of the building your room is on. Like pretty much every other building on the strip, it's a nice building.

Yes. It is in a great location on the Strip and is huge and fun. There is a lot of neat stuff to do in the hotel and there is a good casino.

Yes! It's huge, yeah, but the pool complex is gorgeous (if it's open whenever you're going). Don't bother with Diego's Mexican restaurant, though--worst Mexican food I've ever had in my life, and it wasn't cheap.

Yes, I stayed there once and it was awesome. Just be sure to be prepared to do a LOT of walking - and learn "landmarks" in there so that you don't get lost.
