In WindowsXP should files and web sites go through the "Windows Media"?

My Windows Media will not let me play Music or listen to or watch anything through it, most of my files and web links are going through it, is that normal? An update comes up, for wnmedia, but when I looked it up, it is not for Windows XP. Please help.

I don't think that is normal. you might have a virus. have you scanned your PC for virus. try uninstalling your windows media player and see what happens. for sure you should run an antivirus program

No, Go 2 Ur Media Player Tools Options and check Ur Privacy modes.
