I am really aggravated by some of the people on here. I answered someone's question about her husband not wanting to have another child until they could afford it, and I IMMEDIATELY got 2 thumbs downs. I expressed that it is important to be able to financially support a family before you have kids. She even said in her question that they were already deep in debt. Do you think people should have kids if they cant afford them?

Absolutely not. A family only has a set amount of resources to spread across all of its members. A baby can't bring in more resources, it only sucks them up. Yes, I agree it's fun trying to make the baby, but a box of condoms is a lot cheaper than 18 more years of food, clothing, and shelter. Once the family reaches their resource limit, the only thing they can do is turn to others lest they let one of more of their members starve/die. It isn't fair to the rest of the people that pay the taxes that now have to support the child that an already struggling family could have done without. Parenting isn't as easy as sticking a round peg in a round hole. There should be a large amount of planning and thinking ahead of time. and for those that say it was an accident, there are preventative measures that can be taken. You can't have the best of both worlds. If you play, you pay but don't make everyone else pay too.

I agree with you.It is reckless and irresponsible to have kids if you can't afford them. There are so many clinics in the USA that give away free birth control to anyone that wants to use it,male and female. It's wrong to bring a child into this world if you can't support it and raise it in a healthy environment. This is why we have Family Planning commercials on TV and radio all over the place so people will see and think about it before getting pregnant. These people that have kids and can't afford them surely don't sit at home with nothing to eat or any utilities so you have to wonder "Who is paying for these luxuries?" We are. This is something that eats at my nerves. So many people EXPECT the tax payers(government funds, checks) to support them and their kids. I think that once you have two kids and you can't pay for your hospital or doctor bills or you don't have insurance the government AND the hospital should have the right to sterilize the person. I know that I will probably get reported for this but it's time something is done in this country. We are very rapidly breaking our society down and letting these people milk the system dry. What will happen when they do?

you are not the only person that thinks this way. unfortunately too many people in this world are so obsessed with babies that they don't take the time to think about what it will ACTUALLY take to have and raise children that they don't realize that until it's too late. and most of them are too ashamed to even realize that. so they will justify that by saying that 'it's worth it.' yet a few minutes later you see the wear and tear (and fatigue) all over their faces and bodies. all because they did not take the time to plan. yes even accidents. you don't have sex without some kind of birth control and then wonder how and why you got pregnant. so don't worry about everyone else that refuses to think about their consequences. yes i expect to get some thumbs down for saying what i said because some people just can't handle the truth. so good for you. :o)

as long as u have a job whether it be fast food, retail, etc anyone can provide for a child. but if your not wanting to work bcuz your just being lazy and want to live on welfare, then no u should not have any kids. my husband and i had our first very young and we did not have jobs. we got low paying jobs and were able to to provide for our daughter. now 9 yrs later and one more child, we both are doing very well and our children never go without. i think its impossible to ever be able to afford a child. they need and want everything unless ur just rich.

infant help and custody are 2 different themes. the two would desire to be court docket ordered. via fact your father became court docket ordered to pay infant help on your mom, that's what he's doing. via fact you mom became granted custody of you thru ability of yet another court docket order, you reside along with her. in case you elect to stay which incorporate your father, and your mom isn't prepared to allow you to realize this, he might desire to flow decrease back to court docket and petition that the unique ruling giving your mom custody be overturned. to establish that that to be triumphant, he might would desire to tutor that residing which incorporate your mom is a threat on your existence and safety. I personally think that is irresponsible to have kids when you KNOW you can't afford them. Why make the kid suffer? You should want the best for your kids. Most parents want their kids to have what they could not....so it does not make sense to have kids when you are broke and can barely pay your bills. **But accidents do happen...when that happens, it is what it is...broke or not you now have a family**

No they shouldn't. Im not sure how it works in America but here in Australia you get $4,000 for having a baby, so it helps families who are struggling.
If you can't afford to support yourself, you can't support children.

Of course not.... and women ought also to be married, and not have 6 children by 4 different fathers, trying to trap some idiot guy and on and on..... There are some real idiots on this place, and also, some rather smart ones....
And:
Don't you just love questions such as: " I am so lonely. I have 4 children, no income, he beats the s(h) it out of me, I have no where to go, no education, no job skills, no friends, no family, and I won't go to a shelter... someone please help me and my poor babies."

Like you're gonna send her some $$ right????
