We do not know if your virus/trojan/spyware has gone away or just hiding in the back ground .All the programs listed here are listed as the best of the best and are for poor students like us ;)
(1) Get you self a good antivirus or a free one if your present anti virus is not protecting you .
(2) If you have not already scanned your comp with spybot do that now .Update it and then run it so it gets rid of all the spyware and trojans in safe mode
(3a) Do an online virus scan to check if you still have any other viruses in your computer. And let us know if the online virus scan still finds any virus or spyware .

No, it is not gone. Most probably, it is hiding. Though sometimes, they do go away. Happened to me once.
But you should get an anti virus software. Even the free ones are very good. You can try Grisoft AVG, AOL Active Virus Shield, Alwil Avast Home or any other free anti virus.
I DO NOT think you should try Kingsoft, CA, FSecure.

Use the free AVG free version for Avtivirus. Good or better than Norton, or Mcaffee. go to http://freegrisoft.com
Free updates daily on that one.
Use the free download Spybot for Adware. Spybot is not a virus or trogan or worm removal tool It blocks bad websites tracking cookies.

Virusburst and its other namesakes are installed by a Smitfraud Trojan that must be removed. There are free sites that will remove Smitfrauds. The SmitFraud you have is not gone. Here are two sites that remove Smitfraud.

you can enter setup when your computer starts and figure out if your "boot virus deleter" is enabled. if it is, than THAT's what got rid of your virus. viruses can't go away by themselfs.
