Did you check it after driving your car? Don't forget that oil expands so a hot engine will seem like it has too much oil. Make sure you check it when the engine is cooler

The first time you checked it was the engine warm? How much is it over filled? Was the engine warm or cold the second time? Is the oil clean looking or milky? What does it smell like?

If the oil was first checked with the engine cold and warm the second time it could be expansion. If the oil is milky looking it could be coolant in the oil.

You have two choices, A: shell out $5,000 for a new engine or B: take it to the salvage yard. The timing chain guides have probably let loose. Once they do that, and if you don't fix it right away, the engine goes POOF. The 2.7 engine is around $5,000. Bottom line, your engine is probably toast.

The oil level will rise and fall with the outside temperature.

YOU CAN ONLY CHECK THE OIL WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD, WHEN THE ENGINE IS HOT AND YOU DO NOT WIPE THE DIP STICK OFF THEN IT WILL GIVE YOU A FALSE READING. IF YOU CHECK IT COLD AND IT IS FULL THEN IT IS FINE
