Rudy seems an okay guy. Some of policies I believe in (tough on crime, pro-choice, belief in gay rights but not gay marriage). He did his job as mayor of NYC during Sept. 11th. I see a lot of answers on here about the great job he did during 9/11. But really how could you mess up the aftermath of 9/11, unless he left the city during attack and/or called the terrorists misunderstood followers of the honorable prophet Mohammed. Also, he is on this third marriage which makes me wonder about his committment.

I think he does a pretty good job from what I know. I do have to say that I don't like the fact that he's treated as if he's soo strong on defense when he really doesn't have any military experience or foreign relations. Just because he did his job during 9/11, I don't think he should be looked at like he's the strong war time, tough on defense candidate he's portrayed to be. I won't vote for him as of right now because I don't agree with him or republicans alike on almost all issues. As of right now, I'll take Obama. Of course that could change but I think we need a president who has been a proven supporter of the people that need the support, to me it's the working middle and lower class. And Obama has shown he cares, from what I know..
waycar111-- I also didn't say Obama HAS the experience. But he certainly is not labeled as the strong defender that Rudy is and he has more than him. I'll vote for Obama because he is more in line with the views I support.. Oh, I also didn't say it was because of his experience why I wouldn't vote for him, I don't agree with him, that's it...

He's not my personal favorite. He's Wall Street's choice, which means we will probably get the same open border policy that Bush has held. That being said, he is the republican's only hope of holding the White House. He's the only one who has a shot against Hillary, because Guiliani will take a lot of her moderate voters away from her in New York and the New England states.
interesting how jamie s. says no because he has no experience, but then says she'll take Obama who only a year ago was a State senator in illinois.

When he was in NYC he was tough on crime. His is pro choice and for some gun control. He favors gay rights, but not gay marriage. He has experience as a manager, he cleaned up NYC and solved problems. He knows the law and Constitution (he was U.S. Attorney for NY), he will appoint strict Constitutionalists judges, not a bunch of politcal wonks. Senators just debate and move words around the room (they live in a controlled environment and live by rules they make up for their own comfort), Mayors have to deal with real problems at an almost personal level. He would be good for the military and good for the country. I will vote for him if he is nominated, I think he is way better than Hillary and Obama.

I don't live in New York, but i think he really did a good job at keeping the city together after the September 11 attacks. I think I'd have to know a little bit more about him before actually voting him into office, but he would definitely get my vote before Hillary, and that says a lot because I usually don't vote republican.
..And for the girl below me.. it's not pro-abortion.. it's pro-CHOICE.

I like Rudy. I think he'd make a good president, but he'll never get the nomination, especially with John McCain in there. He's not conservative enough for the Republican base that will decide the nomination.

He lucked into a micro-Katrina in the middle of a wealthy megatropolis with all the resources in the world at his disposal. He lost some sleep, (which I expect), and soaked up a lot of publicity, (which I don't hold against him). Does that make him a world leader? He should be Secretary of Disaster Control - maby.

Rudy?? I would rather take Obama. Rudy has no clue how to run a country. It's like taking a NYC cab driver and giving then a formula 1 car. Actually, they might not do so badly....... hhmm...so ok, bad example.... but Rudy cannot command a nation. He should go clean up Detroit. I think he would do well there.

The far right will not come out for him. He is damaged goods in their eyes. He could be a #2, but his ego wouldn't stand for that. Look for him to be the next Secretary of State.
