I am doing a project on identity and I need pictures of idols from different groups of people, with that said I need a well known Idol from the gay community, someone that alot of people will recognize but not someone who is a bad role model; they are well known and they are looked up to by alot of people, gay or not.

Ellen DeGeneres- currently a talkshow host. Used to have her own sitcom. Besides the fact that she is a lesbian in real life, her character on the show was one of the first gay characters to come out in a t.v. show.

it would be a funny to add a picture of the gay teletubbie, the purple one that has the upside-down triangle oh his head an carries the purse.. they might get a kick at least from classmates

this one is weird but...
Christopher Meloni is straight- but has filmed gay scenes. he is supportive of the community and has been labeled a gay icon- the sexiest gay icon according to some.
on his site and on youtube you can see him getting an award at the GLADD awards

Cher or Bette Middler would be good ones. Both are gay icons, and both would be easily recognized, especially Cher.
