No reason, just to fit in with what everyone else is doing, and to look like celebrities. I find it pointless.

I can understand why some women with unusually bushy eyebrows do but most women do because somewhere along the line they were taught that pencil thin eyebrows plucked to strange angles somehow look better than natural eyebrows that follow the natural shape of they eye. Also because women are way more obsessed with looks than men are.

Women pluck their eyebrows and get them waxed to make them thinner and more shapely. Not all of us were born with perfectly needle-thin eyebrow arches! Not that needle-thin eyebrows are necessarily what we're all working for.
Eyebrows are a huge part of a person's face. Too thick and they can overwhelm the rest of your features. Too thin or light and they may disappear into your face completely. Plucking your eyebrows is just like putting on lipstick or eyeshadow - it makes you look better and more feminine.

well, if this question had been posted in mental health, you would have received more responses. not only some women, some men also pluck their eye brows, moustaches . The reason for this behaviour is given by psychologists is hyper anxiety. another reason is they want to punish themselves for the sins they have done. it is called Trichotillomannia: If the underlying reasons are known, and treatment or counseling is given, they will stop that plucking hair.

You're brows are the frame for the eye. Just like a picture one the wall, with the right frame, you'll bring out the best ,what's in the picture.
Most women will have to pluck or wax for a defined line and complementary frame to the eyes. By doing so it will bring more focus to the eyes. If one has bushy wild and overgrown brows, another person will focus to that unrluly brow.

When you look at a girl she's good looking, nice body etc. then you keep traveling up and you get to her lips and then to her nose, eyes.......then BOOM! theres a unibrow, makes everything else look not so good. Point is that plucking out your eyebrows gives shape and form to your eyes brings them out makes it easier for a guy to look at girl, softens her face. But for guys your suppost to look manly so don't pluck out your eyebrows.

I pluck because I want defined brows and I get annoyed if they're not like...perfectly arched.
That's just a pet peeve I have, not done eyebrows so that's my reason.
Plus it makes you look more proffessional & cleaner

Hi. Women and some teenage girls such as me do this to make the eyebrows more shaply. Not to mention it gives you the satisfaction of having very clean and beautiful face without any stray hairs. I think women who do this in a good way and not a overdone way look beautiful here are some examples.
well done eyebrows:

gross eyebrows:

so it really depends how you do it!

First of all, you Pluck a chicken..... you tweeze (or wax) the eyebrow. :-)
A nicely shaped brow adds to the overall natural beauty of a woman. It is one thing that can be done that does not require wearing makeup to be effective in enhancing a woman's facial features.

That way they wont look bushy, and it makes you look more "chic". I mean who wants a bunch of hair on your face? It will throw you way out of porportion. Take a look at a picture of a face with bushy eyebrows and another with plucked, then tell me which on looks better.
