Frozen bloodworms, live blackworms are your best bet. It might eat freeze dried foods, but that is hit and miss.

My dragonfish ate whatever floated down to the bottom of the fish tank. They sifted it out through the rocks

Dragon fish are omnivores and appreciate a good quality flake food, supplemented with frozen blood worms and frozen shrimps. They are not predators of other fish, and unless one is sick and weak, they do not feed on the other tank inhabitants.

When they get use to your routine of feeding time, and see/smell the food they will come out and start grazing the floor of the tank. They appear as though they are taking huge gulping breaths, but this is how they eat. They inhale their food.

If you like him, look for some peacock eels, they are awesome too.

They are really beautiful as they get their color and size. Mine is a violet goby dragon fish.
