I don't think the people here are as conservative as you think. Some people have taken a liberal stance in the past, only to be reported by another user and then penalized. So people "hold back" in order to avoid getting in trouble.

I am careful how I answer because it could be a young child or young teenage asking and I don't feel it is my job to answer their questions. I don't think kids should be getting answers from the general public. If I am pretty sure it is an adult, I will give a more open response
