Edvard Grieg, the Norwagian Composer, had three things which accompanied him everywhere. These are the red troll, the pig with a four-leaf clover in its mouth, and his lucky frog. The amphibian you are referring to is his lucky frog. It was said to be his favourite, which he carried in his coat pocket when he conducted or performed. Before stepping onto the stage, he would put his hand in his pocket and rub his lucky frog.
