Logan who is 4 years old he picked it up yesterday and squeezed it and now it is very sick and is suffering I thought it was dead because it's just laying there on its side it won't eat, drink, or MOVE!!! I'm worried if it might have been squeezed so hard that it got a broken bone or something HeLp I think I'm a bad owner what should I do tp help it I don't want it to die a slow painful death.

aww it's ok hun! don't worry. maybe you should take it to a vet. if it is suffering and there is nothing they can do I must warn you that they will want to put it to sleep. It may be hard on you, but just remember that if it has lived for 3 years, you must be doing something right so don't put yourself down saying you're a bad owner! It'll be ok.

Take it to the vet ASAP!!! I wish I could give you better news, but I don't think I can, sorry. How long has it been this way? When I was 2, I squeezed my peep (baby chicken) and killed it. The hamster may have suffered broken ribs a punctured lung or a broken spine. you need to offer water in the mean time using a dropper and placing only a drop at a time in the side of it's mouth, careful not to get any in the nose. Syrians however can go without water for several days and still be ok (they're desert animals) if you can't get it to drink. Don't worry so much about food if it won't drink it's to going to eat. My one son (18 at the time) dropped his older brother's one hamster and he died several hours later from being paralyzed. The best thing to do is have the vet verify what's wrong with it and if it's paralyzed, has broken ribs, or punctured lung do the humane thing , put the hamster down. I've done it with one that had a massive tumor in her belly. WOW and your hamster made it see 3, that's great on age, but I tend to say he is critically ill now.

Okay, i have a hamster as well, and well, we just buried one as well... the other one lived for four years, which for a hamster is a miracle, anyway, squeezing hamsters isnt smart, but depending on how much he squeezed it shouldnt be that bad.... i would reccomend taking it to the vet... or if you dont want to spend the money just take care of it as best as you can and be prepared for it to die, because hamsters dont live very long... sorry...

~Good luck
let me know how it goes...

You must be a good owner for your hamster to get to be 3 years old. You must have taken good care of him.
It sounds as if he is dying, and this is always sad for the owner of a beloved pet. Just let him rest and keep him comfortable.

Often, when something dies we look for reasons why we are resonsible for it. Logan should be taught how to handle animals, but your hammy is old and it's time for it to go. Its little body is just shutting down and it is getting ready to die-animals don't fear death-it's just another part of life to them. if you want to help your hammy, sit with it quietly and let it know you are there for it, but don't beg it to stay, just let it go. In return for your kindness you will have a better undertanding of a natural life process-death isn't the awful thing we see on tv-it's quite peaceful.

When the time is right, and you are over your grief, move on to another animal and love it as much as you have loved your friend for the past 3 years.

it's rib cage is probably broken. :(

same thing happened to my mouse: it escaped and my dad tried to catch it, but he kind of slammed his hand down just a tad too hard, and it died a few minutes later.

if it wont eat it's probably going to die :'(

i'd take it to a vet anyway (while it's alive)
