Purchase tracking and insurance. Then, provide the buyer with the tracking number, along with a tracking link:

http://www.usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm

This one is blank because there is no number in it. You want to go to http://www.usps.com/ , then enter the tracking number, hit enter.

Copy and paste that link into the customer's e-mail. Then, they can click on the link and see the progress of their package. The insurance will just be a stamp on the outside of the package.
As mentioned, the insurance is extra, as is the tracking, unless you print your shipping label online. Then it's free.

No big deal, just make sure you get paid for the extras, or include the insurance cost in the cost of shipping, and mention that "Shipping fee includes mandatory insurance".

In your case, if you've already stated a price and the buyer wishes to purchase those items, just include $1.35 for insurance.(for up to $50 insurance). If I were you, I'd just eat the tracking, but you can charge for it if you wish.

Hope this helps!

You should always offer these things at an extra charge when selling an item. It will cost you extra. When you bring the item to the post office tell them you want delivery confirmation and insurance on the item. They will take care of the rest and give you the tracking number. You email the buyer the number and they can track the package at www.usps.com.

Hi, What the buyer is asking for is reciept of the delivery of the item he bought from you on Ebay. If you are in the Uk and are sending it via royal mail (make sure you're sending it by recorded delivery) you will get a receipt to confirm you have sent it. There will be information on this reciept you can send via email to the buyer. If you are using a courier such as parcelforce, they will give you a tracking number once the item has been collected from you. You can then send this tracking number to the buyer by email.

As you have already sold the item, then it's too late to tell you now, but make sure the item is sufficiently insured when its sent off to save you from having the responsibility of compensation should the package get lost in transit. This usually costs a little extra, which is why it is a good idea to offer different postage cost options in your advert when you list it on Ebay.

Good luck!

When you go to:
http://www.usps.com/welcome.htm?from=home&page=0001home1

You can determine the insurance cost (zip, value etc) for your package, That is the amount you send through PAYPAL as a 'bill' to the buyer, after they submit payment, then you go physically go to PO and fill out their little green insurance form, and another certified form with a tracking number. The website will give you all the costs and info.

when you ship the item, tell them you want a tracking number... it'll cost a little... as far as the insurance, it was an option when you put up your item on the site, the buyer cant ask for it anymore because they already paid for the item WITHOUT insurance,

the next time you'll sell stuff, you can make an option for insurance, it'll depend on the buyer if they wanna purchase it or not

hope that helps

When you go to ship the package, you will get the tracking number and the insurance tag. They need to pay you first through paypal, then you ship it and get the receipt, and then you can provide the information. Double check with them to see if this is what they meant.

you purchase the insurance from the post office (you pay for it with the postage). They then give you the tracking number. The buyer on ebay should pay for the shipping and insurance... so it costs you no extra

you have to choose a shipping method when you are ready to deliver. or when you sold it how what options did u give them...usps...ups...fedex? which one becuz if u chose usps and it was FCM they usu. don't have tracking numbers now they have confirmation numbers, you can provide insurance, but if u didn't tell them that it would be extra they'll be upset. u can buy insurance from USPS online when u purchase the FCM or whatever method u or they chose to ship it
