OK I am serious, I am going to have to go with Pigs, and Crows!!Studies show that pigs are actually smarter then dogs. I think that is awesome :). Crows and Ravens ar highly intelligent, They have learned to wait for someone to hit the crosswalk button so they can safely enter the street to retrieve something to eat. The have learned that they can drop a hard to open object like a nut into the street so that a car can run over and open it. They have learned to use tools like stick to probe a termite mound and retrieve termites. For a bird that is amazing.

According to Edward O. Wilson, a behavioral biologist (scientist who studies the behavior of animals), the ten most intelligent animals are the following:

Chimpanzee
Gorilla
Orangutan
Baboon
Gibbon
Monkey
Smaller-toothed whale
Dolphin
Elephant
Pig

This is according to scientists. Personally, I think monkeys or dolphins are the smartest, but the scientists study the animals' behaviors, so I don't really know. Hope this answers your question!!

Are we really intelligent or do we just like to think that we are? Thinking and intelligence for what it actually is are not the same thing. Perhaps it is the animals who live fully according to their nature that are the intelligent ones. We seem to confuse the thinking and reasoning ability with intelligence itself. We seem to think that the fact that we can think and reason is equated with intelligence. It is a part of intelligence. This does not mean that the reasoning will be intelligent unto itself because there is always the choice. What lies beyond reasoning is intelligence how we practically apply this intelligence is Wisdom. He who is enamoured with his own reasoning and who thinks himself intelligent for it cannot know Wisdom for wisdom is not disconcerning and so does not agree. It is the truly wise that recognize intelligence for what it really is and know it through experiences removed from the limitations of a concept world with a brand named intelligence. Thinking we are intelligent only retards the ability of the intelligence of what we already are to shine forth. These assumptions of intelligence can eclipse the Sun. It is my hope that one day we shall all live in a world where the light of the full nature of our collective intelligence shines forth unimpeded. So yes I do love to wonder what our world would become if this were so. Yes what would life be like if all the creatures of the earth lived according to their true nature as fully intelligent Beings? It is a very good question that only we can answer, and every one of us has to answer it sooner or later. It may be best to answer it every day. Thank you for asking it.

I think that it is between the elephant, dolphin, dog and pig. The elephant is known to never forget it is able to remember land marks and places that they have not been to for many years, they also can plan things such as there were these bull elephants who attached people because they themselves have seen a human kill their family member just for some ivory. Then the dolphin is so smart that it has figured out how to lore us out, or to beg for food, not to mention its skills to do many things that humans do but they don't actually "talk" but elephants, and dolphins are capable of the same emotions that we do but "they are only animals". The dog because not only are they capable to live well and live as they do they are capable to understand human language, signs and whistles and follow the commands of what was asked of them and the same goes for pigs.

Dolphins. I found out on Animal Plnet. But I also think alligators too because they have one of the most complex brains of the entire reptilian species and have bones similiar to ours.

research actually says pigs are one of the smartest, as are dolphins. Pigs are studied and reported to be smarter than dogs and chimps....weird, but true. : )
