I recently felt that the grammies were biased, and I live ina democartic state. I often feel as if I'm a minority in my political beliefs.

You shouldn't feel like a minority. Across the states we have 50% of the votes. Also, a lot of republicans just didn't vote cause they were upset about certain things going on at the time. I always feel like half of us are republicans, 20% just don't have all the facts or are swayed by the media too much, and the other 30% simply won't listen to reason. Since you are in a democratic state, all you can do is be the voice of reason in your area. There are a lot of voters out there who vote for superficial reasons and don't educate themselves on the current events like you do.

You are almost getting the nail! Group mentality Minorities who usually try to promote their group do it for the payoff that they have become accustomed to receiving for being what the Dims like to have as their payed off repressed voting block! I doubt very seriously if Dr. Rice, Clarence Thomas, General Colin Powell and many other Americans even think of themselves as anything other than Americans! Take away the "Special Treatment" stuff like affirmative action and Minority programs which have all far outlived their original goals and usefulness, and I would be willing to bet that the group mentality would just no longer be worth a socialized dime!

well I admit I voted for Bush and I'm not ashamed of it.

The country has embraced socialism. When I here Hillary talking about confiscating a commpany's profits becuase she thinks she can spend their money wiser than they can, and Obama calling for "free health care" and I hear people applauding these ideas it makes me sad. Our country was founded on liberty, especially economic liberty. Our founding fathers had had enough of a government confiscating thier money and took up arms and did something about it. they created a society where one had the freedom and liberty to do whatever he or she wants, including earning money. We bacame the richest nation in the earth's history, not through socialism, but through capitalism. People seem to ignorantly throw that away. They think the word "socialism" is a word used to label and use as a scare tactic by dumb right wing hicks. All the while they applaud socialist ideas like Hillary's seizure of an industry's earnings.
We live in a nation now where people have been taught that whatever ills they feel, whatever natural catastrophe comes thier way, it is the government's job to repair the damage and make things right. I fear we have been neutered as a society. If and when the true enemy ever comes to our shore to conquer us, we much like the French in 1942, will roll over and let them.

It's just a cycle. People's memories are of yesterday's American Idol. They don't remember or care about the Clinton years. Once the Dems screw up again, the mood will shift back. Then we will get to screw up again and they will shift again. The Dems had congress for 50 years or so before 94. I don't think anyone will keep it that long again. The country is pretty evenly divided. Don't loose hope.

Remember the Clinton administration. After his 6th year we were all wondering how he got elected because no one would admit it. We are just going thru the same cycle and will do so again with the next President.

I may even be a minority! It can be kinda hard to tell, because we are quieter, decent, have principles, and are more well-mannered. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, you know.
