For some reason, my D: drive (CD) does not show up anymore. It used too however, now every time I put in a CD nothing happens. I open my computer and and I see no D: drive icon. I tried going to the update driver and windows says that the hardware is installed correctly but it does not work. I checked all of my plugs but I still have this problem. What should I do? Please do help.

Well I tried doing all the uninstalling and installing but even after I did that I still get this message in the driver manager

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

What should I do? Thank You in advance!

My CD drive is completely fine. It was working a few days ago. I tried connecting another CD that didn't work either.

I had this problem when I ran a "Full" scan with lavasoft adware progrem. It evidently erased a part of the registry so mine did the same thing. I would just google the problem and maybe a link will come up that fills in the registry. If you have like a Compaq/HP computer you might could try their website or call them. Thats probably the easiest thing. When I called them, they sent me a link to a download and its been working fine ever since. Hope I could help you.

You see that the cd drives are plug and play componets so there will be no problem of the cd drives. So u check the connections correctly and restart if problem persists then update the drivers in device manager and run once more

Open your device manager by right-clicking My Computer, select Properties and click the Hardware tab and Device Manager. Find your drive in the list (you may have to click one of the + signs).

If there is a yellow question mark, click the drive icon and follow the prompts to reinstall it or repair it.
