There are many reasons why there are poor people in the US. One of the reasons has to do with a cycle that begins with teen pregnancy and lack of education. These young mothers tend to come from undeducated (highschool or less) parents, who do not socialize their children to be educated because they don't understand the concept. Another reason is that there is an unofficial "caste" system that assigns moral evaluations oneconomic "status." Once a person's status is established, it is very difficult to change it, despite the mythology of the "American Dream." If you are wealthy, it's assumed that it is because you worked hard to earn it, whereas if you are poor, you are assumed to be lazy.

At the risk of sounding callous, poor in America today seems to mean"I don't get all I want!".From what i have seen the vast majority of the "poor" today would be considered fairly well off in most of the world. We as a society have so much and put in so little effort to get i t that when we call ourselves poor it is an insult to the really poor in the world. We have become so fat and lazy that we consider ourselves poor if we have to rent fancy wheels for our cars instead of buying them.
I don't see starving lepers on the street to often these days. How many bloated, fly covered, vacant eyed kids, begging for a bowl of Purina famine chow did you pass by on your way to Starbucks today?"I need more welfare so i can get ermine mudflaps for my Cadillac".We don't know what real poverty is here.

Many groups have poor within the group. All for the same basic reasons:
No family respect for authority, tradition, traditional moral values, the worth of knowledge.
Family worship of bad food, bad habits, bad morals.
Family adoration of celebrity at any cost, celebrities no matter what their life style, financial success at any cost to anyone.
All the above lead to the development of a new breed of anti-human, irresponsible, uncaring animal-like being called the average American.
