the only reason i got a B was because the teacher thought someone cheated off me and changed my grade after she gave it to me. i want to major in biochemistry because i like science and i want to be a doctor.

Yes, it will have an effect. Some of the more exclusive universities may exclude you. How well did you do on your SAT and other standardized tests? You can still get into a good university if you did well on those standardized tests.

I wish you well, young biochemist. I thought I was going to be a biochemist too, but I turned into a computer game programmer instead.

no. most colleges don't even look at your freshman year grades.
that said, why do you want to be a biochemistry major if you aren't really good at biology? i'd say it's too early to be planning out your whole life. if you're passionate about the sciences, work hard in them, and distinguish yourself. if all you're doing is mindlessly working towards an arbitrary goal, stop and reevaluate. high school can be fun in its own right.

NO they are looking at your overall grade point average and SAT's. It would help to start learning SAT words now in the 9th grade. It will help with your final score, helping you to get into the college of choice. Make flashcards and have someone quiz. That way you'll actually do the work.

people ask this question each and each of the time. of path it would desire to have an result. yet are you able to do something approximately it? no longer approximately your previous grades. yet on the comparable time, you may influence your extra contemporary grades. quit aggravating approximately some thing you have 0 administration over. (just to be extra particular; different classes have different procedures of prioritizing your grades. sometimes, freshman twelve months would be thoroughly omitted, in maximum circumstances that is purely heavily weighting your extra senior years. What would desire to be of better pastime to you is many purposes supply you a gamble to describe your in the previous low grades. I.e. you may contain it on your very own fact, or sometimes they ask implicitly if there are the different components you need them to evaluate on your application.)

Sounds great you should have no trouble getting accepted to a college. Unless it's Yale or Harvard if it's a state unverstiy you should be fine.

No a "B" in Biology won't affect anything so I'm told.
If your worried why not do extra credit.
